I have one upstairs and now downstairs also. These units are great and I love them. Don't believe any of the negative press about them. Just enjoy the fresh, odor-free air in your home.

I am so disappointed, after i had the fresh air machine I was told that no, it was not warrantied, that you were only supposed to buy them from local dealers. I bought mine in 2008 online from alpine air. Now the power does not go off nor can I put the "away" setting on, I am moving and I need to get my house purified after many cats and some dogs.
I paid 739 dollars for this unit and I have an email from alpine air that I have a 3 year warranty, yet there is no phone number to call and I remember calling ecoquest before and being told the unit is illegal and I cannot get it serviced and it is not warrantied with them.

So what do I do now? I brought in two Shaklee ionizing machines and hoping for the best.
I cannot smell so I do not know if these units help the air in my house or not.
I do know that once I had all the cats in their playhouse and the dogs outside and I put the "away" setting on with the ecoquest, and a cat that had snuck back in cried from the upstairs window.....so I do know that cats do not like this setting! Luckily I heard him and was able to put him outside with the rest.

My product has broken several times. You cannot call them but must contact only through email. Customer service reps are rude and hang up on you. Do not buy this product.

I have tried the product and determined that its just not worth the risks for me and my family. Ozone (03) is a has is a irritant to humans and their pets. The unstable molecules will cause a burning sensation to eyes and throat. My best advises to research. Every sales person has one at home and they love it, and they will dismiss the unhealthy claims. There is plenty of info available at the epa's website that warns of ozone generating air purifiers. Also these are slated to be banned for sale in California later this year. Check out the details for yourself and decide for yourself. My goal was to improve the indoor air quality for my family and this product did not fit the bill. The site lists the 60 top offending products as well as some that meet the regulation today. One other note on the company itself who has changed its name 3 times....hmmm

This unit costs way too much money, and doesn't last very long. The warranty lasts only a year, its lucky if the unit makes it a day past that. While it does a good job at deodorizing and cleaning air, it simply is not a product that will last. We had two different units go out of commission in short order. If they had a five or ten year warranty, then it might be worth it, if not for the hassle of trying to get it replaced every few months when it quits working again.
